Responsible Gambling

Definition of responsible gambling

Responsible gambling is play conducted inside limits fixed before a session begins: a deposit ceiling, a loss ceiling and a time ceiling set while no money is at stake. The budget is money already allocated to entertainment, not money required for housing, food, debt repayment or savings. The transferred amount is treated as spent at the moment of transfer.

Every game carries a negative expected return over a sufficient number of rounds, and the operator’s margin is defined in the rules of each game. Individual wins occur; systematic profit does not. Responsible gambling excludes the expectation of recovering earlier losses through further play and excludes gambling as a method of generating income.

A working budget has three parameters: maximum amount per session, maximum number of sessions per month, maximum time per session. All three are set in advance and recorded. A budget held only as an intention is not a limit. A limit is enforced by the account, by the payment method or by a written record checked against transaction history.

Play within limits and play at risk

A pattern inside limits carries these observable parameters: session start and end times decided in advance and observed; monthly deposits within a fixed sum; funds drawn from disposable income; no additional deposit after a losing session; previously set limits left unchanged; sleep, work and family commitments unaffected; the activity disclosed rather than concealed.

A risk pattern carries these observable parameters: deposit frequency rising after losing sessions; deposit size increased to recover a previous balance; sessions extending past their intended end; play during working or sleeping hours; funds drawn from credit cards, overdrafts, loans, money owed against fixed costs or sold possessions; existing limits raised or removed; transaction history concealed from household members.

Licensing status of MagicianBet

Internet gaming licences on the Autonomous Island of Anjouan, Union of the Comoros, are issued under The Computer Gaming Licensing Act 007 of 2005, which mandates the Anjouan Offshore Financial Authority to regulate the sector, with supervisory oversight by the Anjouan Gaming Board. Its functions are application due diligence, licence issuance and renewal, compliance supervision, enforcement including suspension and revocation, and maintenance of a public licence register.

MagicianBet is a brand of One Touch Exch Co. Ltd, company number 129024, registered in the Marshall Islands, operating under Anjouan licence No. ALSI-202506039-FI2. This is an offshore licence. It is not issued by a regulator in the account holder’s country of residence and does not create domestic consumer protection: no national self-exclusion register, no statutory guarantee of segregated player funds, no domestic ombudsman.

Licence status, licence type, authorised domains and expiry date are verifiable by licence number in the public register at anjouangaming.com. The expiry date currently recorded for licence ALSI-202506039-FI2 is to be confirmed with the operator and against the register. An operator claiming a licence that does not appear in the register is not a licence holder in good standing.

Licence conditions cover responsible gaming, anti-money-laundering controls, fair gaming and data protection, and require periodic compliance reporting. Suspensions and revocations are published by the authority. A complaint about the operator goes first to MagicianBet support, then to the authority’s published complaint process and its listed alternative dispute resolution providers. The platform displays an 18+ restriction; a higher local minimum age, where applicable, takes precedence.

Account control tools at MagicianBet

Deposit, wager and loss limits. A deposit limit caps funds transferred per day, week or month; a wager limit caps total stakes over a period; a loss limit caps net losses over a period. Third-party reviews list deposit limits, loss limits, time-outs and reality checks among the tools available; the exact ranges and periods are to be confirmed with the operator. Activation is through account settings or 24/7 live chat.

Limit changes are asymmetric by design: a reduction takes effect immediately, an increase only after a cooling-off delay, commonly 24 hours to seven days. The asymmetry applied by MagicianBet is to be confirmed with the operator. Third-party reporting on the platform’s terms states that deposit limits are not enforceable on cryptocurrency transactions. A limit is set before a session, not during one.

Self-exclusion. Two modalities exist: a time-out of 24 hours to several weeks, and self-exclusion for a longer fixed or indefinite period. Both block account access for the stated term, and neither requires a reason or an explanation. For the duration the operator suspends promotional email, SMS and push messages to the account holder; the marketing suppression practice applied by MagicianBet is to be confirmed with the operator.

Early cancellation defeats the function of the tool. A self-exclusion is not reversible before its end date, and reinstatement after expiry requires an explicit request and a further waiting period. The cancellation and reinstatement terms applied by MagicianBet are to be confirmed with the operator. Self-exclusion covers accounts held with this operator only and does not block other gambling sites.

Wider blocking requires separate action: gambling-blocking software installed on each device used, and, where the payment method allows it, a merchant-category block requested from the bank or card issuer. Cryptocurrency payments carry no equivalent issuer-level block, which leaves device-level software and account self-exclusion as the available controls on a crypto-funded account.

Session alerts. A reality check is a notice displayed at a fixed interval stating elapsed session time and, where implemented, amount staked and net result. Common intervals are 15, 30 and 60 minutes. Whether the intervals are configurable at MagicianBet, and whether an alert can trigger an automatic logout, is to be confirmed with the operator.

Account transaction history records the same information after the event and is not subject to recall error. A history reviewed weekly gives a factual figure for deposits, stakes and net result over the period, which is the reference point for judging whether a limit is set at the correct level.

Indicators of problem behaviour

Indicators are financial, behavioural and emotional: deposits above the planned monthly sum; play funded by credit, overdraft, loans or sold possessions; fixed costs left unpaid; sessions lengthening and repeating; play during working or sleeping hours; a deposit made within minutes of a loss to recover it; limits raised or removed; irritability when access is blocked; preoccupation with past or planned sessions; concealment of amounts and time from household members.

Several of these present across a period of weeks describe a pattern that warrants contact with one of the services listed below. Screening instruments such as the Problem Gambling Severity Index and the DSM-5 criteria for gambling disorder are applied by a qualified clinician; a self-administered result is an indication and not a diagnosis.

Gambling Therapy operates in multiple languages and signposts to local services where these exist in the user’s country.

Where a problem is suspected, two steps apply immediately: set a deposit limit or activate a time-out on the account, then contact one of the services above. Neither step requires a loss figure, a diagnosis or the agreement of the operator. Family members and other affected people can contact all three services in their own right.
